What is Body Image?
How many times did you check yourself in the mirror today? Before joining a Zoom call, or while walking past a car window?
These constant checks reveal something deeper: how we see ourselves and how we feel in our bodies. This forms the basis of our body image.
A world built on free will, yet 89% of women feel pressured to change their bodies. Society keeps shifting the goalposts, and the ideal body is always out of reach:
-
Not thin or curvy enough
-
Not fair enough
-
Not tall enough
Body image is one of the strongest predictors of self-confidence, mental health, and overall well-being, shaping how we show up at work, in relationships, and even for ourselves.
Who are we?
Untamed is a community - it's a movement for mental well-being. We believe your body is your permanent home, and everyone deserves to feel at ease in it.
Through various offerings, we create a safe space to unlearn shame and rebuild confidence, and reclaim the freedom to show up fully — in life and at work.
Like nature itself, abundant, diverse, and endlessly accepting — Untamed welcomes women and gender-diverse people of every body size, culture, ethnicity, age, sexuality, ability, neurotype, and socio-economic background. Whatever your story, your lived experience, or where you are on your journey — there’s space for you here.
You belong here.

We asked women,
"What has society’s idea of the ‘perfect body’ kept you from fully experiencing?"

"The discussions and activities helped me in ways I didn't realise would help. The safe space and opening up to others about what I had been through made me feel more at ease. The activities genuinely helped me deal with my negative thoughts in. It also gave me a sense of community with people, which i never had earlier. "
